Allow parking on West Nields!!

Nield Street could allow overflow parking due to the construction of the New Street garage. During the 2012-13 academic year, WCU will be involved in late August or early September 2012, for the construction on New and Nields Streets for a new 450 space parking garage.  During this construction, 180 parking spaces will be unavailable. West Nields Street could accomodate about 120-160 vehicles.  Most residents use their driveway or alley parking.  West Nields Street is exceptionally wide due to its history for the trolleys which used to pass threw.  Unlike the side streets, cars can park on West Nields Street and not upset traffic. The University will create some temporary parking areas.  However, these new areas will not replace most of the lost spaces. WCU Parking Services encourages all members of the university community to consider the following:

Alternative commuting options such as walking, biking, or taking mass transit,  Establishing a ride share group, Park on South Campus Free shuttle bus service is provided between Q Parking Lot and north campus during the fall and spring semesters.
